Dr. Bibodh Karki is a PGY-3 Family Medicine Resident at CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico Family Medicine. He was born and raised in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. He attended Universal College of Medical Sciences for medical school which is 20 miles away from the birthplace of Lord Buddha. His interest in family medicine intensified during the third year of his clinical rotations. Dr. Karki enjoyed taking care of people of all age groups and backgrounds. The most rewarding part was the relationships he formed with the patients and their families. Dr. Karki was employed at a government hospital for two years as a general physician after he graduated from medical school.
Recently, Dr. Karki was working as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the division of Infectious Diseases. In the past he has worked on the PCV-13 pneumonia vaccine. Currently, he is working on more than ten research studies including Janssen vaccine for COVID-19 and pursuing his Master’s in Public Health at the University of Louisville.
In his free time, Dr. Karki likes to travel, spend time with family, and play soccer. During the time of COVID, he developed a new hobby: biking. He likes to bike along the trails that go around the falls of Ohio, connecting Kentucky and Indiana.
